YOUR SUPPORT LIGHTS THE WAY
In 2023 we’re back to extend our winning streak with another fabulous Luminary Event at Dunkin’ Park. We’ll light up the Jumbotron with stories of the incredibly inspiring women your support empowers with educational and economic opportunities. Your partnership helps Aurora to shine a light on the needs of women and girls in Greater Hartford. Your leadership will help us inform, inspire and impact our community—thank you!
Our 2023 Luminary Event will include the women and girls that benefit from our work and celebrate the luminaries who help them thrive. Funds raised will support Aurora’s community investments, with a focus on College Success programs and Research and Advocacy for Women and Girls.
EDUCATE. EMPOWER. ENGAGE.
Moving from Covid to economic security for the most vulnerable women in our community continues to be a challenge. Women are resilient, but opportunity is needed. Aurora funds programs that offer supports
and solutions. You make a difference when you invest in women and girls.
Aurora-funded College Success programs empower low-income women, women of color, and first-generation college students to earn a college degree. Programs offer them mentors, academic support, leadership training, financial literacy skills, and help with basic needs. Our Essential Equity: Women, Covid-19 and Rebuilding Connecticut report showed that 75% of the women applying for unemployment during the pandemic did not have a college degree. Our research shows how important education can be for economic mobility. Research that shows the need and programs that work are a powerful combination. Women and girls will need more support as they continue to suffer the economic effects of the pandemic--you can help rebuild their futures.
